I just picked up these 4 'unofficial releases' on NGCD.

All had an MVS release, 1 an NGH release too. But none on NGCD.

So I was wondering, what other neo games have been ported across to the cd variant? How easy is this to do (I've heard its tricky but no details)

Talk to cdoty. He did those conversions. I donated to him a couple weeks ago through his mini-site for these conversions and got the BIN/CUE files and burned 'em. It would seem as if someone's capitalizing on his work, though.

I'd personally love to see more of these, but it would seem the NGCD has some constraints that prohibit more MVS/AES games from being run on the system. cdoty's trying, though, to get some more done I think.

Someone get him in this thread...hehe

I would throw all of my savings at NEO-GEO CD (or AES) versions of the rumored:

    Magician Lord 2
    Crystalis 2
    Ghost Pilots 2

even if they were unfinished betas.

those would have far more meaning to me than say, Sonic Xtreme

Sure. I've heard of the man, Frog Feast and all.

The chap I got these from said they came from Hong Kong years ago. He had the full set of 97 released games in similar style to these. Perhaps he was talikng rubbish who knows?

I've since heard mvs to ngcd conversions are common in the DC scene. (?)

Yeah, from what I understand conversions that are compatible with the NeoCD SDL emulator take advantage of the increased memory of the DC; many can't be run on the NGCD, or some such thing.

wheelaa: are the graphics in Neo Mr. Do messed up (compared to the AES version)? If so, then it's Charles Doty's conversions. Those 4 are the only conversions that he publicly released, so I imagine someone indeed did capitalize on his work recently.

Also, there is one sound effect messed up on Neo Mr Do.

I'd like to know who released them, I'd like to request a free copy. :)

The packaging is fairly well done.

So I've just had a read over at ngcom.

Hmm. I'll be checking out Mr Do properly tonight to see if those glitches/sound effect are messed up as described.

It would seem as if these cds are a result of your hard effort Mr Doty. Otherwsie its a shocking coincidence. The chap I got them from is still adamant they came from HK, but who knows. Perhaps someone in HK did them from your work, perhaps he's lying. Regardless, someone has been cheeky along the line!

I feel a retrospective donation coming on.
