Love the alluminium case! Boy do I fancy one of those.

Quote - "heats up like a mofo" No surprises there!

All in all nice articles, I'm sure it is actually quite a solid console. Shame about the choice of games!

How are people taking pictures of these? I would think their NDA's would forbid it. I'm not allowed to post pictures of retail consoles without clearing it with the PR department... :crying:

Don't take a picture with stuff that they can trace back to you.

With an adapter that big, they haven't a chance in Japan.

    Can I just add...

If you read a recent famitsu issue, there was a short article on how much power the 360 uses, especailly in comparison to the ps2 etc. Electricity is very expensive in Japan and the fact that the 360 is at least 4 more times as expensive to run on electricity alone makes a big difference to the japanese buyer.

Add to that the news today that the releases of EM and N3 have been whacked back and you are looking at a dead launch...

All my japanese gaming buddies are either utterly not caring about the 360 launch or very negative indeed. Oddly enough the thing most people mention in bitterness at the moment is why senko no ronde is on the 360?

Dear oh dear, MS just can't crack the Japanese market, who on earth is doing their research?

A fat American kid who likes RPGs and watches Anime on Cartoon Network...and therefore knows everything about Japan.

I wouldn't be suprised if its a non-Japanese market research firm.

Im sort of wondering that myself...I was looking forward to playing it on Dreamcast before it got moved to 360, but the arcade version would have to have its visuals completly redone to appease the 360 crowd, while as the dreamcast it would have been just fine on.

As regards xbox foreign policy oddly enough it is the kind of Job I'll probably end up doing. Most graduates end up doing relations and advice between Japan and Western companines. We are somehwhat rare, so maybe I can turn it around for them! J/K

And as for senko no ronde I would really like to play it online, but I love the original arcade game. I would much prefer to see a perfect dc port or even a faithful ps2 port, they could surely knock it up in a weekend or two. Still gives me a good reason to get a 360 cos I love the senko no ronde, I would love to get involved with internet ranking or something. For the record I'm surprised g-rev has the money to do an update, I reckon the 360 version will be very similar to a version they could run on the dc.

Well, I think it's funny how much people talk about the Xbox 360's PSU...like the PlayStation 3 will suck up less electricity? Hell, I wouldn't be suprised if it needed more!

Then again, the PlayStation 3 could be a toaster with a built-in LCD and the Japanese would still buy it over any gaijin made product ;-)

I however, shall simply avoid any conflicts, and buy both (or perhaps all 3). I may get a Revolution, but even though I love Nintendo, I won't decide for sure untill more information on it is available.

Also, is anyone else here cringing over how much the PlayStation 3 might be to import? I have worries that I may end up spending $1,000 or more on the system and 1 game at launch! I hope i'm overcalculating... :(
