Unreal Beta [2-6-1998]

I was finally able to download this from a torrent site. The download was dead for the longest time, but someone aparently seeded it one night, and now I've got it.

Is there any interest for this? Is it safe to upload? As soon as I get a thumbs up from a mod, i'll post a link to it.

Damn, it looks like the .exe requires a password, gutted!!

 

The password is found in the UnPass.ini file.

 

I think i may have just creamed my undies a little bit:lol:

Seriously though, thanks for the link, Unreal is one of my favorite games/series, this beta should be fun to dick around with.

A friend gave this to me ages ago, and I've never attempted to play it. I'm not a starcraft fan at all, so its potential goodies are completely lost on me. It is 182 mb compressed and 200 uncompressed.

Lets see a show of hands for people who want to play and dissect a starcraft beta.:thumbsup:

I've been getting that with a lot of megaupload links today. Keep trying, I'm sure it will become available again.

If it becomes apprent that the file is totally dead, do not worry. I still have the original rar. I can upload it as many times as needed.

Edit: as for the starcraft beta, it seems the only way to play it is to connect to bnet, and it wont let me connect. maybe someone can "hack" this, so to speak, to get it to work? here are some screens.

As for bnet, there is a linux bnetd. Very easy to set up, we used to have one years ago to play home to home :typin:

 

I'm interested! I had a beta of SC of some kind from somebody once but I never got to play it because I didn't have a computer and it's now gone. How could you not like Starcraft though???
