Is there a list of all unreleased 3DO games that leaked to the public? I know of "3DO Games: Decathlon" (found the beta) and Powerslide (haven't found that yet), are there any others?
I have a list somewhere. Off the top of my head: UMK3 Thea the Dinosaur -??? I specifically remember these 2 because they were posted on panasonics "spare parts" ordering page (they actually had alot of spare parts for the 3do including many games). To my knowledge, they were never released, but I would assume have been in the final stages since they were assigned part numbers and entered into panasonics database. Icebreaker 2 - not entirely sure about the status of this, but it was never officially released. I think the guy ended up releasing the source code for it and some company that publishes old games picked it up very recently.
Has anyone actually ever seen UMK for the 3DO? - I mean running. I'd love to see it. Practically the Holy Grail for 3DO surely? Orbatak was a beta for the American Laser games 3DO based Arcade machine. That's kicking about.
has anyone got any info on a game called dragon tales? google gave me nothing and i have a brochure that has a photo and description of this rpg.
Awesome, out of all the unreleased games thats the one id want right there, I remember them showing it on either Newsround ot Tommorrows World and i was literally wow lolled.
This got a fair bit of coverage - not sure it was ever leaked though. This is waterworld by the Pickford brothers. It was never released either. Yet it was completed. A rolling demo was included in the Interplay Buffet disc. Will
I'm quite sure I saw it at E3 95/96, but I can' remember if it was playable or if there was just some sort of demo running...
Does that book actually contain 3DO specific moves lists? Or is it just a generic listing of moves that can be used on all versions of UMK3... If it is the latter then it's not very interesting at all as they probably just threw every console name on the cover that was supposed to get a release.
I honestly don't know, but how would you put together a book full of "generic" moves? All consoles had different button configurations. It would have to mention button mappings somewhere. I'm contemplating on whether or not to shell out the $1 + shipping for it just to see if it has any 3do info in it.
Generic moves would be easy. You could just list them like so, D = down U = up R = right L = left LP = low punch ..and so on I've seen guides that take this approach before, thus insuring that the moves are compatible with most platforms without alot of excessive reprinting of moves. Although it may still be worth paying the meager asking price to check it out.
I found some video footage of the 3DO Star Trek TNG game. Over at Youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=nqX_xDqNmOY edit: Here's a link to the source file that the Youtube video came from. Courtesy of the fellow who posted it on Youtube. You'll need real Quicktime or QT Lite to play this. FFDSHOW couldn't hack it. Quality is a bit better better than the flash version. http://rs177.rapidshare.com/files/91486401/xx_startrekpromo.mov
The Star Trek game for 3do never really made it much further than the pre-rendered bit up on Youtube. The lead programmer popped up on a site a while back and provided scans of his design docs and confirmed the project never really went very far before the plug was pulled. As for UMK3, I know there was a former intern or PA at Panasonic in San Francisco who got a copy of the beta before they closed. He also had Theta the Dinosaur. I didn't believe him at first, but he had a lot of details about the packaging and developer protocols for betas at Panasonic that led me to believe he really had the betas. Unfortunately, he disappeared and never seemed to have much interest in releasing his treasures.
