Found a link to the apk apperently developed by konami shanghai says the twitter, it was cancelled. Works great on my galaxy note 5. Media fire download on the twitter 26MB https://mobile.twitter.com/shmupemall/status/684434910896123906 My thoughts: It's just a shame it craps out on me at the end after the last boss, right when escaping the base, it seems very complete, the touch screen works well as you can use full movements anywhere you touch the screen instead of some stupid fake virtual pad, even better with a stylus. I also tested with a moga pad on hid mode and I got a few menu keys working bUT it seems I'll have to use moga external setup app to work with gamepad. Gameplay is fairly easy not really much else to say. It rather enjoyable but feels a bit incomplete like the developers still working on other implementations of the game so they had it easy to help test. Music it's the salamander tunes remixed *thumbs up* level 2 being my favorite. Graphics well it is a remake of the Famicom version it is high Def but you won't be blown away like gradius gaiden or gradius 4 and even gradius 5. All in all a pretty enjoyable casual run through especially for an unfinished project
Can I get this moved to unreleased games discussion? I don't know how to contact an administrator haven't been on this site in forever.
Thanks dude i appreciate it it's dang good for a 26mb download of CANCELLED GAME, it really does a great job of emulating the famicom version of salamander. Absolutely love the music and the relaxing gameplay, this is staying on my mobile device until a future os can't handle it than I'll emulate it on the pc . It also has me playing the originals such as all arcades variants, the pc engine version, and the famicom version. I wonder why konami cancelled it? Hmm. Think I almost got that blue tooth controller working with it, btw turning up the sensitivity helps alot.
Thanks Yakumo, btw, if you make a Life force/Salamander battle of the ports you should definitely show this one, also (you probably already know this but) there is three versions of the arcade 2 japanese that are different and Life force, and I think the nes and famicome versions are slightly different. But something I want you to know that's really important is if you record the commodore 64 version through emulation the music freaks out when the player shoots I've seen a raw capture from an OG machine and that dosnt happen, other than that life for force is 60hz and salamander is 50hz on the commodore. Btw I'm Stevacus Maximus on youtube *cheers*
Good heads up on the C64 salamander. I will be covering the series in a future battle of the ports so it's good to know about the c64 issues plus now I can add this Android version
