Just thought some of you would like to know that Matt and I have released the ROM for Swamp Thing (free of charge!) to everyone over on the brand new Sega site; SegaAge! http://www.segaage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=49&threadid=41542 Take a peak, have a download, and enjoy the new site
Nice! I've been waiting for a SegaAge to counter NintendoAge and AtariAge. Keep up the good work.
A nice release, on side note you just gotta imagine what unfinished games would be like if they were ever finished and released
The few times I've had something corrupted because of a download was back in the 56k days where I'd use Go!Zilla to be able to resume downloads. Never understand the open source community's obsession with checking checksums and hashes.
Unless you have ECC ram at all points between the server and the client then there is always a chance that something could get corrupt. That is assuming that there are no bugs in the entire software chain & the hard drive doesn't suffer a random corruption as well. I don't know whether SATA has any protection, I know ATA didn't. These days it's more likely you'll get a truncated download than a corrupt one, but why play russian roulette if you don't have to? You're actually quite lucky, at work we recently had to cope with data corruption due to packet fragmentation when using mismatched MTU's. It's supposed to work, the routers supposedly had no changes made to them & yet they worked, didn't work and then worked again after a couple of days.
Thank you so much for this one!!! I try to buy it on ebay, I didn't put a lot of money if I would know you're gonna to release it... And by the way, thanks for SEGAAge site as well.
No worries on the auction's end price, it ended up being pretty low We have a few more free releases coming out in the next few months for the Genesis, I'll definitely keep you all in the loop!
