This system looks so good for the time it was to be released, and that no one knew about it on here...? Yet people were pre ordering that other handheld that came out just recently, but had it on pre order for like 2 years!?
You mean the pandora, right? You see, the problem with all things Chinese is that they are either complete cheap rip-off crap that nobody would even care to look in to or so obscure that no one in the west would even know about them. So it comes as no surprise that no one here knew of this machine.
Well done very nice find. It looks like an interesting handheld, but from the looks of the screen the graphics are not going to be any were near as good as the DS. :/ Probably best that they pulled out. Although the pixel era's always seemed the best to me.
I haven't done a precise screen to screen comparison between the EZ Mini and the DS, and while off the top of my head, I'd say that the DS is the winner, the EZ Mini's screen is somewhat better looking in person than my camera can convey. Also, I just realized that looking at the dates, Shanda showed this in late '05, and planned to launch in early '06. Well, the DS Lite wasn't even announced until Jan 26, '06, and wasn't available until March 22, '06. Shanda wouldn't have known about this, so the EZ Mini, is perhaps better contrasted with the original DS. And viewed in that context, it's (touch) screen is actually much better looking than the DS (original). Also worth mentioning, the EZ Mini's most obvious Korean EMU handheld rival , (with similar features) I would say is the GP2X F200 (w/ touch screen) which wasn't available until October of '07.
I'm attempting to have the names of the two original Chinese titles translated, but until then here are some pics of the many many different versions of Space Invaders included. *Please keep in mind that my camera isn't doing a stellar job of conveying the EZ Mini's screen. New Zealand Story version??? Two player showdown. Black and white, Tabletop. Color Tabletop. Arcade cabinet version.
Do you have the names or pictures of the names of the two games you're trying to get translated? Maybe a user here can help out (or in worse case I ask my wife).
More info on Mio Hey guys. I sell GPS units on ebay, and Mio is one of the brands I carry. I can tell you that their GPS units are very dependable and nicely built, they usually have a longer life than other bigger brands (Tomtom, Garmin, etc.). So this thing should be a pretty decent unit. Only thing is that the software they create is pretty basic and their GPS units use Windows CE, so I wouldn't be surprised if this thing runs on a Microsoft OS, so tinkering with this baby should be a breeze in the right hands. Thanks for the post, never heard of this thing before.
Wow, this thread is incredible - that Zelda clone alone makes it the find of the decade, since it actually looks worth playing through. So, when do we get reviews of the games in question? Have you gotten very far in any of them?
