http://www.snescentral.com/unreleased.php I currently have 165 titles on my unreleased SNES games list. I make no claim that this list is entirely comprehensive, so if anyone has titles they know of that aren't on here, I will add them. I'm always on the lookout for new binaries too (I actually found a couple that I didn't know of when I was making this list). Also, many of the "known prototypes" are unlikely to be dumped without 2k monies, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.
Great list but I don't think listing language variations as unreleased is really worth while. After all you can still play the game in another language. Arcus Spirits/ Arcus Odyssey springs to mind. Something that might interest you is the "Shitty Batman" beta. I had a copy of that back in the mid 90's and it had no "Joker" and no 2nd level. This was before the internet ROM site when you had to get games from by calling a BB. So therte must be another ROM of this out there. Yakumo
Final Fantasy VII The Horde by Ocean USA Mission Impossible Monster Truck Wars Mountain Sports Nick Faldo Oh and Torneko was by Enix .
Well, developers confirmed that. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=98617 http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=302056 Now for more the juicy rumors: 8 MB Cartridge and prerendered graphics.
It doesn't sound like any of the original "plans" (For either SNES or 64DD FFVII) got anywhere even close to the SIGGRAPH video in terms of conception, I'm not necessarily sure how close that is to a proper qualification - most other unreleaseds for the SNES I'm familiar with tend to have a prototype or magazine info... *shrug* Interesting read regardless.
Super list! I think that for Super Famicom the game Super Widget (not listed), Athena no Kateiban ~Family Games~ (not listed) and Sound Fantasy was found now. From memory, I think you can see leaflet of the game Oh! My Goddess! (not listed), Ninja: Shadow Stalker (not listed), Ochanoma Densetsu (not listed) and Fighting Polygon (listed as FX Fighter), (but I am not sure of correct spellings for them).
Are these among the games you're referring to? I saw them on the SFC MANIA Blog as I was researching Satellaview content; http://blog.goo.ne.jp/randnetdd/e/8e99d56abb60bbf8a7396e52d0ead7df http://blog.goo.ne.jp/randnetdd/e/0867549e8ca143a4e03e6ab1a5d94a14 Said site also has screens of a lot of uncirculating Satellaview content. I'd like to be able to obtain all of that someday... On the note of Satellaview stuff, if you've seen the seven-minute ad at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DS1uG0u1R4o then you might have noticed the titles "BS Otogirisou" and "BS Torneko no Daibouken". I can not find any evidence that these were actually released (They have the naming format of Soundlink games, but the Soundlink premiere dates archives do not mention them.)
Yes, that's them. I think also he has got Super Famicom Arunamu no Kiba: Juuzoku Juuni Shinto Densetsu.
There's also that article about "LaPlace no Ma" which confuses me. All in all though I'd be most interested in BS Fuurai no Shiren Dai-4-wa, Wario no Mori Bakusho Ban, Pikopiko Pairetsu, those Kirby no Omachabakos, and the Super Nazo Puyo 2 demo. Oh, and that weird thing where Mario plusheis smoke cigarettes and beat the stuffing out of Toad and Peach.
I think the Super Nazo Puyo 2 demo is interesting because there is also normal cassette version, too. I think also version off LaPlace no Ma sure looks much different.
Yes, I do understand that it depend of the definition of "unreleased" ( although I'm conviced they indeed worked on Super Famicom while 64DD was more like a brief idea ). Unlikely we'll ever see something about it without Square will. Another one is Dream by Rare. A demo working on a stock SNES was reported to exist (or have existed). But once again it will probably dust in a english safe.
I would say that development would have actually started before we can really consider a game 'unreleased'. Otherwise we're just talking about hypothetical games - the idea was thrown around the office for a bit, but nothing came of it.
I would say that games that were "officially" announced as being in development but without any solid proof that there it was in a development phase may also count. Noting this because the supposed "video" of BS Torneko no Daibouken and BS Otogirisou don't look any different from retail cart version screens (while the other stuff that actually got released has some modifications, with the exception of the BS Monopoly stuff, but that's accounted for in terms of schedule and 2 of the 4 ROMs....) so it's possible they were announced before any development came up on them at all and then scrapped for other things.
Pretty big update today. I scanned through the March and April 1992 issues of Gamepro for information on unreleased games, and updated the following pages: Substantial updates: - The Lost Mission - Spellcraft - Toxic Crusaders - Falcon - Final Fantasy V - Bulls vs. Lakers - Golden Empire Minor updates: - The Great Battle - Metal Masters - Pigskin - Railroad Tycoon - Robosaurus - Might & Magic II - Swamp Thing - The Flash - Ultrabots - Romancing SaGa - Castles - Baseball Stars II - Robo Mech - Super Double Dribble - Ultima V - Maniac Mansion II - Casino Kid II
i liked the lost mission informations, didn't look so bad, a cart may be around if they conpleted the translation and was sent to review. Nice work as always!
I went through the May 1992 issue of Gamepro, and added four pages: New Entries: - Big Run - Guerilla Warfare - Rap Attack - Earl Weaver Baseball updated: - Might & Magic II
