Same here, never played a Virtual Boy. But having a link cable to play multiplayer just sounds like its freakin' awesome. But even if I had the chance to buy a Virtual Boy I wouldn't. I have bad eyesight as it is lol

I actually saw a display unit at a store (a toy store, I think?) when it was still on the market. I actually thought it was really cool, and I always wanted one. I'd still like to get one, but they're kinda expensive now. I think it was the same store where I saw an Atari Jaguar on display once.

I remember K.B. Toys had them on display. I played the Jaguar and was impressed -- but I had only seen the SNES and Genesis at that point. Although even the child in me thought that the numpad was stupid.

Lot of work for something that currently has less use than a Ford Edsel or a bottle of blinker fluid.

Anyone got a spare power tap or battery pack for a VB? I'm in the market for one and eBay is highway robbery.

Yeah the Japanese power tap is much better. Not hampered by a lame US SNES plug.

It wasn't K.B. Toys, although there was one in the same mall. It was a different toy store, I can't remember the name. I also thought the Jaguar controller was ridiculous, even as a child.

It may get a bit more use when the Street Fighter mod is released.
Although there won't be a lot of people that will actually play it but the same goes for the link cable.

Edit: it seems like they are doing a VB-PC cable. This might be a very interesting idea. One person can play on the console and the other can play on an emulator on the pc.

Virtual Boy emulation on a 3DTV is pretty amazing. I had a VB years ago when i was a kid, and recently felt like playing some red alert and teleroboxer, so i hunted down an emu and set it up to run in 3d, was like playing the actual VB, but without the neck strain, lol.

This seems like a good idea. I will have to try it.

I always wondered why Nintendo hasn't released any Virtual Boy games on the 3DS. It would be the perfect platform for them. I guess Nintendo just wants people to forget about it?

I never thought about that, but it seems like such a logical idea to put VB games on the 3DS... i suspect you may be right, nintendo is just trying to sweep the VB under the rug at this point, so to say, lol

Someone made a hack for one of the versions of a virtual boy emulator to work on Nvidia's 3D Vision. Pretty cool to be able to play it in 3D still.

I must try this 3DTV VB thing someday. The only thing preventing me from playing VB is losing 3D effects on emulation.

I think one of the VB emulators also supports 3D via traditional red/blue glasses.

Right, Its Reality Boy. I used to play Wario Land using the anaglyph mode rather than use my VB, mostly because my VB stopped working right and I cant be arsed to fix it. it just sits on my console display these days.

I can attest that the anaglyph mode on that emulator works a treat.

In a Tomodachi Life trailer for 3DS, there was a Virtual Boy cult. There was also a picture of Reggie with a Virtual Boy. Nintendo knows it has a cult following, but probably doesn't think it would be profitable. Or they don't want to deal with health issues from all that red and black.

They could have options for different colors, like they did with original GB games on the GBC and GBA.

What was the screen size of your 3D TV and how far away did you sit? 3D TVs / monitors are on the way out so prices are probably dropping.
