Last week i went up town to see if i could get something for mothers day and i decided to have a look in gamestation to see what they had. To my surprise while i was looking in the window i noticed what appeared to be a PC BOY with controller iirc it was £69 or arround about that. To be honest i don't know much about the console and found it odd to be in a gamestation, its gone now but had i been able to buy it i would have.
Thought you meant one of these first!!! They do get that kind of thing in occasionally, but then want such high price for it they sit around for ages and then get moved around local stores
Sometimes PC Engine type stuff show up at Gamestation, they had a boxed Coregrafx for years, haven't seen it for a while, I think they are getting out of the retro stuff now...
Gamestation occasionally gets in odd stuff - my local store had a TurboGrafx. Also a copy of PDS sitting in it for aaaaaages. Bit too pricey for my liking though, and was missing the slip case.
Sheffield Gamsestation used to have a PC Engine, several Wonderswans and a few other more obscure bits. Ridiculously high prices (£30 for an unboxed b&w wonderswan anyone?) They seem to have cleared out of pretty much everything now. Most of it has probably gone up on ebay or something, or given to staff as I didn't see any price reductions.
Dang, the word's "PC Boy" and that second picture made me think of a portable "handheld" gaming PC. That second thing looks like it has its own Hard Drive inside!
Gamestation in Crossgates in Leeds used to get all the retro stuff. They always had PC Engines, Turbografx, PC Engine GT's in stock and loads of games. I rinsed them of their SNES games when they started doing 4 carts for £10 back in the day. I have not been in that store for a long time but really, it is like no other Gamestation I have ever seen! Never seen a PC Boy before though, looks ok
I'd have thought you could try negotiating the price. If they really have had something on the shelf for ages that's interesting, then it's got to be in their intrest to reduce the price a bit to turn a profit. I've negotiated with cash converters in the past and have been quite succesfull.
Everytime I've been in the Gamestation here they never seem to have anything like that, must not be going in at the right time.
The one on the Moor? Its terrible now a days. This was about a year and a half ago when they had PCE and WS. About half a year ago it turned absolutely crap, even for regular games. Not been in for a month or two.
The two gamestations i go to are pretty good for retro stuff, the bigger 2 storey one is better as it always has something nice in the window like the pc boy and i even saw syndacite for the 3do next to the boxed n64 games. The smaller store is still quite good as they did have a boxed resident evil GC pack and 1 or 2 other boxed gamecube packs.
Yea the one on the moor il be going in later, looking to trade some wii games in and get that Mario and Sonic Olympics game. The only good thing ive seen in there for a while was a dreamcast and even that was way overpriced.
