Picked up a cheap Xbox on eBay because it has a problematic DVD tray. I got it because I could see the serial number indicating it's a 1.1 and it was cheap. $19 USD shipped. But according to the guidelines this thing is an enigma. I'll give the specs. MFG date: 2002-12-21 Serial #: 5169133 25105 Product ID: 751 5169133 25105 Made in China Has Samsung SDG605B DVD drive Has Western Digital HDD Confirmed revision 1.1 from the lack of USB controller board found on 1.0 and has the straight line power plug found on 1.0 and 1.1 consoles. Because it's made in China this should have a 1.2 board. Because it's a late 2002 MFG date it should be made in Hungary or Mexico. I did notice the guide I used said Mexico and China MFG locations for 1.1 so I don't know. Then there is the Samsung DVD drive. I thought those were only found on 1.2 to 1.4 consoles. Guess I found what I believe to be the best revision of the Xbox for dirt cheap then. Only issue is the DVD drive needs a good knock to open. Probably just needs to be cleaned and the tray belt replaced. I think it's the best because it has the 1MB TSOP chip found on 1.0 and 1.1 with this one made by Sharp (Need the 5 volt boost for TSOP flash then), Samsung DVD drive, and it doesn't have the extra board for the controllers like 1.0 did.
