Back in 2000 (early 2001 at the latest), I remember going into a Walmart and seeing this odd UPC demo kiosk for PS1 games. A generous amount of games were on display with accessible barcodes off to the side. Final Fantasy VIII was one of them. I scanned it's label, and it played back a generous amount of gameplay footage from Disc 2 of Squall and co walking around in Balamb looking for "the captain" and "the commander". If I'm remembering this right after 15 years, it had it's own dedicated screen that was mounted to the glass casing. Typical PS1 and Dreamcast demo kiosks (running an Underground Demo Disc and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, respectively) were right next to it. Anyone remember seeing this type of setup before?
