I have a PSP development tool (NOT TEST tool although I have one of those running 1.50 too) that is running 1.50, I have the 6.00/6.39 firmware...but not sure how I'd actually load it.
It was at 3.7.2 but it got reset to 1.0 and I was able to load 1.5 onto it.

Could someone offer a little guidance?

You cannot go straight to 6.x. You will need to first update to an intermediate firmware.

Essentially you need software that you probably don't have (and neither do I.). Prior to the 5.00 firmware a Tool or Test PSP required a special image burned to a DVD. From what I have seen on the actual SCE PSP SDK files the 6.00 SDK did include such an image in case you hadn't updated to 5.00. Once you are on firmware 5.00 the update procedure is the same as a normal retail PSP (stick update.pbp on memory stick in psp\games\update folder if I recall.)

Before anyone asks. I don't have any of these actual files but I did manage to spy a leak of Puzzle Quest 2 source files that managed to get indexed by an unusual search engine. It just happen to have most of the PSP SDK files inside of it. Of course the site had long since had the files removed. The source code to Puzzle Quest 2 on the PSP would be worth something...that I'm sure.

I'd pay for a copy for both the tool and test unit.
