    Hi everyone.
I recently acquired a ps1 model SCPH-1002, it's a bit yellowed but in full working order, it even came with the box!
I know these earlier models have some issues and was wondering how I could upgrade this one.
Could I install a SCPH-9002 psu? Could I change the laser to the one from the PsOne?
What else could I do to make it more reliable?
I really want to use this one as my main ps1 system becauso of the sound quality.
So if you guys know some more about this please share!

I would love to know this too.. Got an NTSC SCPH-1001 and it has a different psu cable (5 pins instead of 4.. not talking about the power cable) which makes it impossible to replace with the ones from newer PAL models (5502, 7502, 9002 etc).. Also, SCPH-1002's turn out to be hard to find here.

How do I do this? Since the pins are different, the 1002 has a 7 pin psu and the 7000, 9000 models have a 5 pin.

So if I do it like that I can use a unmodified 5 pin scph-9002 psu on my 7 pin scph-1002 motherboard right?
Funny That image didn't show up on the english version of the website which got me confused..

Or do you need to modify it?

    It's pretty simple :)
This is how to make a schematics of PSU to 7 to 5 pins.
I make this cable and it works correctly (tested with 2 SCPH-1002 without no problem ).
