Great - it's dying so I really need this to work. If my PSP turns off, it's pot luck to get it to restart again.....can take anywhere between 10 mins or 10 hours - no joke!

Currently, it's on and it's charging!

I downloaded some zip file from dark alex's web site. It has oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker% and some other files. I have the 1.50 eboot.pbp file that I used to downgrade to ages ago. I think I need it. But I don't have the sony 3.40 eboot.pbp.

Upgrading to 3.40OE is the same as updating to any OE firmware, just instead of the 3.03 eboot you use the 3.40 one.

Is there any difference in the firmware updates at all?

I'm only doing it because my PSP has suddenly become really unstable. I think it's broken so this is my last hope before I sell it as faulty...

I dropped it last week and I think that did it. It was in the foam case though. Piece of shit.

what do you mean by unstable?.........

3.40 oe can be a bit unstable at times too (although fixable)....3.03oe is really stable. Try downgrading to 1.5, perhaps using one of those flash formatters and then upgrading to 3.10oe

3.03 oe-c has been brilliant for ages. Then I dropped the PSP onto hard tiles but it was in it's foam psp cover. I turned it on, the psp works great. Phew, I thought.

Anyway, its started to crash and not always turn on about an hour later. I have just managed to turn it on and I flashed it successfully to 3.40 oe-a. Problem is still there. I must have damaged something internal when I dropped it. A funny burning smell seems to be coming from the UMD drive if I shove my nose in.......

looks like I need a new one. Not impressed as I will have to get a new one and do all the downgrading shenanigans all over again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and it's a pretty white one!!!

    Anyone want to buy it?

hmm....it seems ok if i don't push the battery cover too much or turn it off. Still very miffed. Think i'll keep it for homebrew and get a new blue one.
