Largest investigation into development hardware, trading, and software has been launched by the FBI in light of the "discretion" of everyone's "favorite" community members. The investigation is on going and Assembler members need to retain privacy within their dealings and contributions here. The Xbox dev sections and marketplace need purged immediately. Not fucking around.

We can't. Only ASSEMbler himself can do that. Us mods don't have the power to delete entire forums.

That would be destruction of evidence and criminal.

People need to be responsible for their own actions.

The arrests weren't about some homebrew coder, it was about fraud and id theft.

whichever agency they've pissed off likely already has everything backed up they need, all the sales threads DaE made etc.

i think they're going after the guys involved only and everything they've done to really drop it on them.

microsoft do things like remote bricking so kits cant be used, but i really dont think they care about people doing homebrew. i might be wrong, but we've never heard of them seizing kits through forums posts.

They are hammering them because of the apache simulator.

FBI won't even leave their offices over any theft under $150,000

This is about the microsoft stuff, with the main reason being the government property theft.

seems like attempting to sell the durango he built was small fry.

I almost feel bad for them, something tells me trying to steal a fucking military software is going to be worth a lot more than "36 months" like your early estimation. I'm thinking a dime and thats if they get some deal with they rat another out.

No matter what you do on the internet or how dark-grey-hat stuff you're into, you should stay away from two things: Felony (paedophilia, fraud) and government property.

If you're somehow linked to either: Your fault.

The federal offenses include access to development hardware trade and software. However, I do understand your position. Most people affiliated have simply been contacted and questioned. That being said, so far there doesn't look to be any other investigations launched as of now; however, they sat on evidence and indictments for nearly a year so anything is possible. I just figured it would be a good safety measure just in case. It is not unreasonable to believe this website is now an area of interest though.
