Everyone knows about Japanese game soundtracks, but we never hear much of US game soundtracks. As part of the collection liquidation I've been doing inventory and came across a few US soundtracks I didn't even know I had. Some of the suprises included: Rob Zombie and Jurassic 5 (among others) are on the Jet Grind Radio soundtrack. Space Channel 5 - Planet Dance disc Ecco the Dolphin Soundtrack I remembered the Space Channel 5 discs, but others had been forgotten. Anyone else out there run across any "I didn't know they made a soundtrack for that" discs in their collections? -hl718
Generally once I get the disc in my collection, I know they made a soundtrack for it ;-) As far as American soundtracks go, I've just got Sonic CD, Donkey Kong Country, and a kids' Donkey Kong LP  My wishlist: DKC2 and Mario 64. That I know of, anyway.
Well when you collect a lot it's easy to have stuff slip through the cracks...like "Sonic the Hedgehog Boom." Heh. -hl718
I still have the soundtrack discs from Command&Conquer: Red Alert (double-CD release, one disc with tracks from the game, one disc with music from various artists), the one from Wing Commander Prophecy (including the tracks from - iirc - Juno Reactor which could be unlocked via cheat ingame), and MDK. And yes, I also had the embarrasing "The better one wins" Sonic single... All were bought at local music stores at the time when the games were in stores, too. (apart from MDK, which I specifically ordered). I am a sucker for special editions which include soundtracks though, p.ex. I still have my Incubation (Battle Isle Phase IV) SE discs, the soundtrack also includes several tracks from Archimedean Dynasty and Extreme Assault. Most "soundtrack" discs you get in stores over here are only game-branded music collections from the past years, the fifa series is a good example of this - the tracks don't appear in the game at all. Edit: Didn't the GTA series always have huge soundtrack collections? I remember a box of GTA3 or Vice city consisting of 8 or so CDs. Though this isn't music specifically made for the game. Was the music in Metropolis Street Racer and the Project Gotham titles licensed, or made for the game?
