    Hey all,

Bit of a conundrum. I live in Ireland and have a Genesis/Sega CD unit. From the advice of another forum member, I got the Genesis running with a normal PAL Mega Drive power adapter. Which got me thinking about my poor 'ol PAL Model 1.

Now, I'm an idiot when it comes to power supplies, but given that the NTSC Genesis can take a PAL adapter, is it possible to do the reverse - use a US adapter on a PAL console?

I'd rather ask before I end up blowing stuff up and whatnot. Cheers!

If you lived in America, yes you would use an American power supply on a pal mega drive (jpn mega drive as well).

It is the output of the power supply that concerns the console, the input voltage of the power supply concerns your power point in your house.

Cheers, I tried it and surely enough the system powers on and works!

But: there's a constant electronic buzzing sound emerging from the system if I use the AUX port on the front. So, no stereo sound for now. :|

    Any ideas?
