[US] PSX Activator 2 (New)

Hello all.

Was cleaning out a box of misc items and came across a sealed PSX Activator 2. I vaguely remember buying this back in the heyday of the PS1 - I obviously never got around to installing it. I think the only purpose of this was to mod your PS1 to play back-up CDs of your existing library. Other than that, I am clueless about this thing

I have no idea what this is worth but I do know that I did not pay allot at all for it at the time. It does feel somewhat fragile - probably best to ship it in a disc box to ensure it arrives safely. Here is a picture:

Probably more of a novelty for a PS1/Mod person. Free to whomever wants this

Your guess is spot on.

That should be a (fairly generic) mod chip. Likely doesn't have any anti-stealth code in it.

Thanks hl718 for the confirmation on this. There is a paper manual inside it, but since it is sealed I have no idea what information it contains.

 

Yep - I thought the same when I came across this. I did get this thing from the internet back in 1995. Heck, I may have been using the old MSN software back then for internet access.
