I m thinking of downloading some strategy games from the PSN. I won't be downloading them however if there's no USB mouse support. Does anyone know if the mouse support extends to the PS1 emulator?
I've just tried Sim City 2000 and Red Alert (both PSX games which claim to support the mouse) on my 60 GB PAL PS3 and neither responded to the mouse. EDIT: These were played from the original discs, not downloaded from the PSN. Not sure if that makes any difference...
I've heard that with a PS/PS2 > PS3 USB convertor (one that has a PS3 button on it) that the official PS mouse does get detected.
yeah sounds pretty reasonable. the mouse is only supported via the ps/ps2 controller port, sony wouldnt bother making the USB-port able to emulate a usb-mouse for that purpose. psn-versions should support the psx-mouse over the adapter, i see no reason why sony would cut this out of the game-code.
I am going to buy the adapter next month to see if I can use the Jet De Go and some of the Densha De Go controllers but I have Tokimeki Memorial mouse pack so I'll see if that works.
I took the liberty to e-mail SCEA customer service, although I highly doubt for a reply or any changes to their input layer.
