Safety and stability. Other road users knock down motor riders no matter how cautious a rider is, yet on the other hand car drivers rarely get affected by small accidents at low speeds. Traffic might be a valid argument BUT keep in mind that doing dangerous driving during traffic can get u in alot of trouble I used to skateboard around the place until recently, now i m just too old for this shit. I need to get a car sooner or later!
this is kind of off the subject, but. the past few months ive been living out of a subaru as i drove around north america. after about two days i wished my subaru impreza coupe was a subaru wagon, a week later i wished i had taken my truck. a couple months and i was one beer away from trading my subaru in whittier alaska for a rusted out 1960s camper...that had been used as target practice. its not allways about how fast, or how great gas mileage a car gets. the subaru was great for driving on twisting mountain roads, but absoluetly painfull for driving long distances through the plains. you cant strech out in the thing, no leg room...and because its such a smooth ride, its boring as all fuck. i admit going 120+ on old two lane highways passing trains of semi trucks is fun, but its short lived. it did handle dirt roads ok, but now because of it its not the same car it used to be. now looking back i would have much rather taken a bigger car, a tougher car...even if it got worse fuel economy, had trouble on steep grades, and couldnt go as fast. i wish that car manufacturers would make cars that fit more peoples needs, i needed a moderately small 4 wheel drive off road camper...but, no one makes one. well at least anymore, i think vw made one in the 80's...the synchro? now that im back home i mostly drive my truck. its a 1968 c-10 rusting from the inside out, straight 6, 3 on the column, and is all manner of fun to drive. it rides like a boat on water and stops like one to. it sounds like an airplane and vibrates so heavily at anything over 65 mph it feels like its going to fall apart. going 25 miles an hour in my truck feels like going 100+ in my subaru, its great. i get the sense of speed without the speeding tickets. i have a moped that gets 200 mpg but its difficult to ride around without some idiot allmost running you down. anyways...they make e85 conversion kits in brazil, i was thinking of putting one on my truck.
