V-Saturn - Screen Flashing Weirdness

Hi All, Hope one of you very clever guys can help me with an issue. I bought a Victor Saturn which appeared to be totally Dead. On closer inspection I can see that the Varistor has blown as has the Fuse.

I put my working PAL European Model 1 Saturn PSU into the V-Saturn and it fired up Thats the good news!

BUT the bad news is the screen flashes like crazy during the boot up (V-Saturn Logo) and when it goes to the CD Player Screen the Space Background flashes like crazy also. Totally at a loss as to what the cause of this is. Please see the YouTube video on my Channel from 03:36 onwards to see the issue.

 

hi dj , take a look at this video maybe it has something to do with the Caps. Check that they are not bulging or maybe replace them entirely

 

Sorry I cannot help you with the Saturn issue, but at least I can shed some light about games.
First two are World Advanced Daisenryaku and the last one is Sangokushi IV - all three are strategy games and while it's possible to play Daisenryaku without japanese knowledge, I think it's not the case with Sangokushi .

 

Just thought I would update you guys. I have repaired the Power Supply so it now has it's original PSU back in and working BUT the Flashing issue still remains. Any ideas on what it might be? I hope its not a messed up VDP2 chip and could be something Capacitor related?
