Just need a new laser. It has trouble reading dvd's. Has anyone ever used lenschanger? This has a hd7. I want to try putting a 400b or 400c with the lenschanger.
Try searching the forums with various key words, such as "ps2 laser". There are several threads here about this.
Yes, all consoles starting from the F-chassis (GH-015) can support both the KHS-400C and SANYO SF-HD7. lenschanger will copy values to your EEPROM, so that your console will have the right values to support the KHS-400C. The actual way would be to use the service tool (in our case, PMAP) to change the optical block setting and to follow up with the adjustment procedure (adjust parallex and gain), but it isn't a widely-done thing. If you can, please use a KHS-400C. I have this feeling that the newer consoles weren't meant to actually use use a KHS-400B (with the T487) because there is no longer an option for the old T487 lens for the G-chassis and newer.
I have them for sale in my sales thread and have been for a couple of years. here is an install pic for good measure: http://assemblergames.com/l/media/img_20160603_180312.1550/
Yes I acquired a bunch a few years ago but this is the first time I tried installing one. Also the 400C laser and lenschanger worked perfectly. Thanks sp193 for confirming it would work.
