This one was first only distributed online and 5000 (or 500?) worldwide were avaible.Does anyone know what's the difference between the online online version and the normal version which got sold everywhere later?
As far as I know there is only one Vampire Chronicles for Dreamcast and that was the matching service one. Never knew that they first released a version that wasn't matching service. Yakumo
I still have a few articles in dc mags about that, they said it was sold online only in a very low quantity (500 I think) but now you see it everywhere. No clue why they did it,maybe they wanted to get more profit out of the game later.
500 -- no way. 5000 is more like it. Sega Direct actually had a blowout recently, and they apparently had a stack of these (and SFII FMS) which I picked up a copy of each.
I think 5000 was the original quantity of the game, and then it was re-released not too long for something like 2500 yen on Sega Direct as part of the Dreamcast Collection or whatever it's called (like the Dreamcast Greatest Hits in Japan) which explains how easy it is to find now. Super Street Fighter 2X For Matching Service also got the similar re-release treatment, as did Moero! Justice Gakuen (Rival Schools 2: Project Justice), De La Jet Set Radio, and a few others.
they weren't re-released as the DORIKORE lable but sold cheap along with Space Channel 5 part 2 and loads of other goodies as part of Sega Directs celebrations. They were the same copies taht were originally made. Yakumo
SF2 FMS wasn't re-released (nor was Vampire Chronicles, as Yakumo states.) The last three were released as part of the DORIKORE label.
