Don't get so excited. It's nothing special as it has been done before.
If you ask me, he found new old stock and has started to sell it.

Meh, who cares about the PSX anyway? :) The Saturn has far superior VCD decoding ability, and the package for that is in a tiny card.

mine also arrived and need to install it, no memory, I knew that but well. Just discovered the 900x ps1 I have has no Videoport, there is a Scart directly soldered on the board (cable) and some label "Gemerkt Eigendom" or something. What abouth that IC connector? PIO replacement ?

It covers the Boot ROM IC. That overcomes the lack of PIO port. When this thing is connected, the BIOS follows the boot sequence and executes the Caetlhack programmed in the Movie Card EEPROM at console startup.

You know Lik-Sang used to carry a VCD board made specifically for the small PSOne, right? It was made by the same company. Should have bought one but it required extensive soldering, which I was a big noob at that back then. Good luck finding one of those.

PS. the vcd player for that required a mod-chip, obviously.

@Segment_Fault, You have a DIY Movie Card ? If so, can you please send me a dump of it nor take your unit to my bunker ? I do have older cartridge versions that need a little EEPROM reflash:witless: for great justice.

Yes please. It would be very appreciated.
I used to collect cartridges BIOS dumps like xiaNaix did. Got Gamars PSX-001 and PSX-003 but no DIY/DIY II internal Movie Card dump. It would be very kind of you if you could dump and share the BIOS of your DIY Movie Card PCB.
I'll post dumps and scans of my PSX-001 and PSX-003 for those who are interested...

    EDIT :
Gamars Movie Card PSX-001 (EEPROM Dump + PCB scans)
Gamars Movie Card PSX-003 (EEPROM Dump + PCB scans)
