Holy cow this looked badass. How could this of been canned? I want this sooo bad. Anyone know anything? The way he picks that guy up and smashes him against the wallh: http://www.sega-16.com/Feature-%20Vectorman.htm And I don't want to hear any of that "he's not made of balls" crap. This game would have kicked ass.
HES SUPPOSED TO BE MADE OF BALLS! But I suppose if they explain why he isn't I would have accepted it as a real vectorman title.
 They said some stuff about him getting scrapped and a "stranger" putting him back together. You try to find out who put you back together and why I guess. Bah, I just want to kick ass and take names like on that video. Call it Sonic 8 for all I care.
They do explain why he isn't and yes it would be rather nice to get our grubby hands on such a title.
ftp://segapr.segaamerica.com/SEGA_GAMES/ARCHIVE/Vectorman It's still on Sega's FTP server if anyone is interested.
As much as I love them, Sega has been really pissing me off lately. They'll get 3/4ths done with a game then just up and cancel it. Last time I heard any news was that we are never going to see the final chapter of Shenmue... bastards. And then this game, I loved Vectorman back on Genesis, and this new version looks really sweet... but nooooo, they have to cancel it after they show video footage of it looking almost complete. Why the heck did they release Altered Beast but not this? Altered Beast sucked ass, but Vectorman definitely looked to be shaping up well. And if they don't have the name recognition, create it through advertising... if you've got a good game (or a shitty one), the right advertising will sell millions of copies. Ugh, sorry bout the rant guys. Just woke up and am a bit hungover, saw this and it kinda pissed me off.
Altered Beast was handed over to Rieko Kodama (Skies of Arcadia) after the original (Chinese based?) team didn't make any progress. She and her team had to make the best out of the title in a relatively short period (using the same engine and such). I guess Vectorman was in an even worse state than Altered Beast.
My my, that does look very nice. I agree with Lobster, Sega is making some bad choices latley. This game looks close enough to completion and easily could have generated some decent hype (and sales.) Shit, OG Vectorman is like one of my favorite games ever.
