well, ive been meaning to post this for, about a year now, and i never really did so hear it goes.

on ebay a long while back, i came across a beta kit (b1 or b2 dont know)
evidently it was pulled, but that's besides the point.

you know those 2 sidecar wires that stick out of the top (maybe it was a beta 2 then since it was just the 2 wires)

there was a pcb unit with 2 vga extensions connected to the sidecar wires , i never got to save a pic,

recently i found out that stock xbox360 to vga wires, dont work on devs, but they do on retails.

can anyone shed some light on this pcb that was connected to the wires?

(Edit: just relized i posted in wrong section, sorry for the trouble)

maybe its my pos monitor, it was giving some out of range error, you know what, it probably is because i tried it on 2 different kits, its weird that it would only work on my retail though.

Wow Tyler your monitor just doesn't support the res u have selected, I use VGA on my kit all the time man. And yeah those are serial, vga is like 15 pins man. I'm guessing those just do the same that the PIX and USB dvd ports do on a kit with a sidecar. Even though I don't think usb could emulate the dvd drive fast enough prob just used for debugging purposes.

That's just a voltage level converter, not ?

    From XBOX360 3.3v into RS232C levels (+12/-12v)....

You need a sidecar for dvd emulation

it can work for a demo kit, if the demo kit has the ports to add a sidecar, some have them, some don't, most have all but the power port.
