So I'm struggling to get my Dreamcast to HD. I have an RGB/SCART Converter which works great with my Genesis/Sega CD/ 32x, and Saturn situation. However, it became complicated with my Dreamcast to get it up to that video quality. I've tried several times to purchase the Toro from Behar bros. (which seems like a great solution) however their payment processor consistently rejects my payment, I'm not sure if it because it is a payment to Turkey, or whatever. Either way, I've been prevented from purchasing this product. I've been looking for alternatives, there are DC to VGA cables on eBay that are cheap. Then there are VGA to HDMI cables that are a thing. I have the Panlong Scart to HDMI converter, which has HDMI input... Knowing that VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, would I be able to make this DC work with a DC to VGA connected to a VGA to HDMI cable to my SCART/RGB converter with HDMI input? Is there HDMI with a VGA analog pinout? Really, what I'd like to do is bring my DC to RGB quality, and if I can convert VGA to HDMI somehow (with the device that I already have) that'd be great. It's complicated. Like I said, there is a thing that does this, but they refuse my payments, so I'm willing to half-ass my way there.
Well, I can only speak for myself, but I got one of those VGA2HDMI boxes, and it is one of them that only converts, and doesn't upscale. It looks and sounds great. 1.1 how my VGA looked on my older Pioneer Kuro Plasma, which is one of the best TV's back in the day. On my newer Philips it looks good.
