So I have an old RG-JX1 with a blown out power board, can I put a UK Saturn power supply in it instead of whatever it was using before? If so, which one? Is there any other way I can repair this system? I've had it for over five years now it died one day when I accidentally plugged in the wrong power cable, it would be nice to get this working again.

The V- Saturn I don't event think I can see a serial as I usually recognise them, the only number on the bottom of the system is 670-6228, the rest is all just Japanese text. There's another space for where a label can go but no label. I don't have a UK Saturn at hand, more interested in finding out which one I need so I can buy it for cheap and strip it for parts.

You mean joystick port board, right? Or were you implying the board with the power led on it? (not what id really call the power board though - to avoid confusion)

Thanks for the help people, I'll post up some pics of the insides soon to figure out which revision it is.

I know you know your stuff (especially when it comes to the Saturn). I was sure thats what you meant, we all get distracted or type something you were just thinking about rather than what you actually intended.

I do it all the time =/

So are V-Saturn's mostly the same as every other Saturn just with JVC painted on it?

Don't you just love the throw away society we live in nowadays?

Take it to someone who knows what they're doing with electronics and get them to repair it - a television repair shop should be able to help :)

Sorry for the late reply regarding this, it's not one of my priorities right now so it slipped my mind. I managed to realise I'm an idiot and found the serial on the back of the console lol, I'm always used to finding them on the bottom (probably the N64). The serial reads 16907306. I know it's not the rarer early model V-Saturn, I think it's the second revision of the system.

Would you be interested in selling? I can take pictures of the inside of the system just to double check which revision it is. I'm pretty sure that at the time I bought it somewhere I read there were two revisions of the early V-Saturn, the RG-JX1 I own being the second and more common version of the two. I don't know if there's any truth to that, perhaps both are VA0. I really like the design of the system, the grey shell and the black decals look great with that little hint of purple, I noticed it has His Masters Voice logo on it which it pretty cool, never used it in years.

I am sure I can part with it. I just need to find it first!
