Not pointless, i like items like this particularly the romrom set, these look tres cool. Do the speakers connect to each other via standard speaker cable, I only see input on one side?
Nice find Eric. I remember someone telling me they do not sound soooo good as expected, but it is a very nice bundle.
Yep, they sound like you'd think they would sound, which is not very good. But the build quality is nice, really solid set with each speaker being about 2 KG. The two speakers connect to each other via speaker wire.
The packaging is really beautiful, a true gem for the hardcore Wondermega addict. I guess whomever they go to, they will not be used for more than a short test for the rest of their existence, therefore it's totally meaningless how they sound
They do sound awful, and it is definately something that a collector will buy, leave it in the box and watch a layer of dust settle over it. I did find an unboxed pair ages ago and was surprised by how much I got for selling it, would have easily have bought me a reasonable sounding 2nd hand amp and speakers...
I always get a kick out of reading posts where people question the collecting choices of others. Given that 99.999% of the people in the world would consider anything we buy a waste of money, it's like one person living in a bubble criticizing another person for not living in the same bubble.
He's right, I mean does anyone really need a nomad, laseractive, or wondermega when you can just go out a buy a genesis with a sega cd for considerably a lot less?
You should really think about what you say before doing so... Because you can play the Nomad on the move, something nice about putting a cartridge into a slot rather then playing an emulator. An unboxed Nomad isn't that really expensive. You can't play any Mega-LD or LD-ROM games on a Sega CD. The Wondermega is expensive but I have bought 2 unboxed units for under 80 pounds (and both of those were in the UK...), the Wondermega is a nice all in one unit and has much nicer and cleaner sound then a mega CD / megadrive.
"something nice about"..... So there's something you like about it. Great. It's your life and your choice. Everyone has their own "something nice about" points. To each his own. The point is: why question it?
They kind of remind me of the speakers I got back in 1990 direct from Sega. They had this offer during the summer/fall of 1990 (presumably to boost sales of Genesis games or whatever) and one month you could send away for some speakers similar to these but smaller in size. They made good on their promise and I still have them. They have the old "Sega Genesis" logo on them and are completely black in color. Even the button and dials on the face are in the same location. The only difference is that they were meant to plug into the headphone jack of the original Genesis. They were ok but required C size batteries. And being a kid I didn't really care taht much about sound since it was all about graphics and games for me.
You make a good point jametex, but what I mean is for regular use at home it's a bit of an overkill. Wasn't the number of laseractive games realeased pretty small?
