Hey guys I got an avermedia game capture that can take video component.

I already have here an RGB to component converter (JS Techology one) and the following consoles work on the avermedia box:

    GameCube
    PS1
    Sega Saturn
    Nintendo 64 (THS amped RGB)

And here are the consoles that didn't work:
    NES (ppu modded for RGB)
SNES - tried several snes 1chip, snes baby rgb modded, super famicom
    NeoGeo AES
    NeoGeo MVS consolized
    Sega Genesis
    Atari Jaguar

When I plug the above consoles it says there's no signal input.
If I had to guess this box accepts only 480i component and those consoles are outputting 240p, is that correct?

Do you guys have any idea how to be able to record those consoles?

AFAIK most of recorder with Component (YUV) input has the limit to the interlaced signal only.
if those consoles are outputting non standard interlaced signal (or 240p in this case?) then probably that's why...

Yeah, a friend of mine suggested using a phillips dvd recorder that has the fardouja (can't remember how it's written) chipset. This could do the trick as a line doubler :))

I've found one very cheap here that has the DVDR function broken so that's the way to go - I hope.

Yeah I've got an elgato game capture HD, and it'll only capture 480i over component. Is this a software issue that could be patched, but isn't because of lack of interest? Its too bad because it would be a nice alternative to more expensive RGB capture devices.

I don't know. In my case - the Avermedia - they even took the old model out of their site.

It know only features the hdmi model so I guess a firmware for 240p content is out of the question.
