As we know, there has been hotel units of most of the video game systems but is there a archive with pictures of the units? Would be nice to have them gathered in one thread.
One of the members here japan-games has most of those listed on his website. www.japan-games.com Maybe if he reads this and feels like it he can post the pics here as well.
Sadly Japan-Games.com isn't what it used to be. I guess he hasn't come around yet to include all the detailed pictures that were available in the old page design since the new version provides only a small part of the former amount of pictures, lots of versions are missing at all.
I have some N64 stuff and I posted pics here: http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=436161&postcount=40 I actually ran into a Gamecube unit the other day at a hotel on NYE, unfortunately it wasn't my hotel room and I didn't get to play with the thing. I did manage to snag a pic of the controller though:
I laughed at the Mad Dog. Is that another empty underneath? As immoral as it is, I'd probably grab that controller when I left.
the controllers are tethered. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zrenyB5U_E&feature=player_detailpage#t=22s << quick look at the cord of it.
I stayed in a hotel in Texas that had some sort of SNES unit - and this was only a couple years ago. I don't think it was lodgenet, but it seemed that the system that actually ran the games was remote from the controller and tv. I played F-zero on it.
Nintendo had this setup called the Nintendo Gateway System. From their old website: Lodgenet used the Nintendo Gateway System, as did a number of airlines. I'm sure Nintendo catered the interface for each company. At some point, I would like to do an article about it, but I was holding out in the hopes that an actual unit would be found.
Depending on the numbers of 1.) airline seats and 2.) hotel rooms which were "modified for fun" xD minus the theft on and in both of them, there should be masses left but where are they hiding? +1 for the article.
I think so. If I remember correctly it didn't have a Nintendo logo on it. I also contemplated nabbing it, but I decided against it.
I never knew those 3DO units even existed. Quality. Neo Geo Hotel System :033: There's also a nice article on NFG Games about the Saturn SGX. Does anyone know if the PC Engine was ever made available as a Hotel Unit?
not sure they are hotel stuff, but Bock bought them from yahoo auctions: http://www.smspower.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11416
