Wholesale and retro don't go together. Wholesalers sell new stock. You're talking about warehouse clearance, bankruptcy stock etc. Look for warehouse clearance sales and bankruptcy sales.

There aren't going to be many warehouses sitting on old games in the UK, though.

Retro games a a funny thing.

There are of course New old stock games left sitting around out there never sold. Consider the stock of Telegames or Best Electronics.

But those large lots of games are already in the hands of people who are in the business of selling them. If you really want to try to by older games by the ton (without having to buy out personal collections on eBay, I'd try contacting somebody who bought out a company.

Ie: I'd be going after Best Electronics and a couple others for Atari stuff and, for shits and giggles, though they surely have practically nothing left, Turbo Zone Direct.

Telegames' stock is greatly depleted now, and also often vastly overpriced! Likewise with Best, really. They were one of a few people who bought out the Atari stock. Those people all know their value and sell it for that. I don't see any way of buying stuff off them to make a profit.

It is a difficult thing to do nowadays. All you can really do is scour bankruptcy listings and hope you get lucky. Most retro gaming shops are set up from years of collecting, often selling a personal collection, or a long history in the business nowadays.

I know, like I said, the stuff I listed is already in the hands of people who already know how to sell them...but I don't think it's too hard to believe that if you approached someone with a cash offer on a lot of stuff, you could get a significant discount.

Yeah, but you'll either find one of two situations - that the seller is shifting them like hotcakes so won't want to give a huge discount as that's losing money, or that he is sitting on dead stock and so sells it on to you cheap... then you're the one sitting on dead stock!

Half the appeal of a retro shop is that it DOESN'T have hundreds of the same item. Grab stuff before it goes! That's what you want, really - fast turnaround of stock.
