anyone here ever built one of these either for their own usage or while working for a company?i'm looking to do something like this http://img249.imageshack.us/my.php?image=monitorsplitspy5.jpg
I have set up countless multi-head display setups, but they're always for computers. The last one I did was 6 24" monitors. Requires 2 quad-head Nvidia cards. Not sure how you'd do it for a console. I assume there is some type of hardware you'd have to buy (of course after getting the monitors).
My fondest memory of a video wall display is the time I played Killer Instinct on SNES at an Incredible Universe on a ginormous wall display. I beat one guy and got some collector cards. Then my mom took them away because they were too scary looking and had big breasted females. Those were the days...
lol first time I seen something like it was at a suncoast video. it was playing i think robin hood men in tights (not 100% but it sounds right)
How many monitors? I would suggest getting an Nvidia Quadro this is exactly what they're made for. The bad thing is, the 3D support for them is pretty bad AFAIK. Wouldn't know, as I've never tried to run a game on any of the setups I've made.
You could get some of them adaptors that basically fool your video card into thinking it's connected to a single monitor with a really high resolution. This is the split over a number of monitors (usually 2). That combined with the setup GaijinPunch mentioned could get you quite a lot of monitors linked together.
