I've got a file converter I think I need called the "Videoraxbox360converter" and plenty of media files on DVDs that I wouldn't mind watching on my TV. Could I import an image and make it my background, too?

Well, anyways, how exactly do I view movie content from a burned DVD? Do I need special burning software, I suppose?

If the 360 is on your network you can stream WMV and MPG with media center or on the dashboard. I think you just need the WMV's or whatever on the DVD like a data disc and stick it in. Same with music.

Yeah, if you have an image, you can make it your background.

you don't need special burning software any will do just fine, what you need is all your videos in the correct format that the 360 requires then all you need to do is burn the files stright onto a dvd just like data and your 360 should be able to play them just fine.

I think it´s much better to watch your DIVX movies with a cheap DVD player

Yeah, right now 360 can't do Xvid or Divx, but in the upcoming dash update it will.
