In light of this - http://kotaku.com/5666434/nintendo-3ds-getting-hudson-games
Along with about 20 other 3DS games would you prefer to see new titles altogether, new franchises etc? Or do you like the idea of your classics coming back over and over at $40+ a time? Thoughts and views please :D

I generally like playing good games, regardless of whether or not I've seen them before. :)

Well as there are too many idiots that buy a game cause they are too lazy to plug in an old game console and are impressed by new features like semi HD and scoreboards then companies will always go with polishing old rope.

On the other hand taking old franchises and making new games can be good as long as the game play is still there, a lot of games age badly and no amount of polish is going to make the game good. On the other hand if it is a completely new game with new mechanics then the game franchise is little more then garnish, the difference between steak and chips and steak frite.

    Examples

Bad - Super Mario Kart on the Nintendo Wii.
Good - Super Mario Kart DS featuring new and old tracks alike.

Bad - Super Fantasy Zone on the Nintendo Wii
Good - Super Fantasy Zone collection on the Playstation 2

    Bad - Out-run on PS3 and Xbox 360
Good - Out-run on Sega Saturn

Bad - Sonic and the Dark Knight on Xbox 360, PS3, etc
Good - Sonic Rush on the Nintendo DS

as long as it's a really enhanced remake i see no problem in that... many games of old were masterpieces!

I.E. i'd love to see a new generation treasure of the rudras, or space megaforce for saying 2... or even a new f-zero ;) my wii is boxed since i finished zelda on it... total wii playtime; around 60 hours. worst buy i made in my life!

It depends on a number of things to me. What is the franchise is, how long ago the game came out, what they will do to it, ect. For example I would love love to see a full scale remake of the first two Metal Gear games and I'm sure many here would love to see Sega do something with Alex Kidd.

It depends, for example, the upcoming Super Mario Bros. collection for Wii seems to be a lameass ripoff with just the prehistoric Mario All-Stars on a disc with a fancy case. Generally, I don't like it when companies just release old games on new consoles with no extras, might as well be playing them on an emulator (at least many of them have online on XBLA/PSN now).

The preferred type of "resurrection" for me would be either a well done remake/new game based on an old franchise that manages to blend the old stuff with enough new stuff so it doesn't feel like a stale rehash (good examples: After Burner Climax, Outrun 2, Bionic Commando Rearmed; bad examples: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled, 1942: Joint Strike, Commando 3)

I think it can be done fine, but if the game does not have updated graphics, there's no interest on my part.

I think my favorite remake is Resident Evil for Gamecube. That game is beautiful and very fun to play - a great improvement on the original, in my opinion. Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes was pretty good too.

well how Nintendo is doing it i think they have finialy run out of steam
only zelda and 007 excite me

all the rest is just rehashed same old same old nothing new.. hell even 007 is pushing it on the rehash

hell there isnt even an M game for the wii that WASN'T a port

ether be SEGA style creative wacky and imaginative or just GTFO

and i really think Nintendo has lost its mojo and its sad

its like knowing a good friend or family member has finial stage terminal cancer and theres nothing you can do to help them

mark my words nothing but recycling the same stuf done many times before is the start of the end its all down hill from here the next few years the titles are going to be even more lack luster and recycled

Nintendo only has a few good games out or gonna be coming out

super mario 007 and wii sports zelda

everything else is just recycled crap yes even Kirby's epic yard is crap

come on YARN thats the best you can do WTF if it had been done in cell shaded like wind waker it would of been quite bareable or maybe even 2D crayon but YARN no no no

I don't buy straight rereleases/ports at all, only ones with at least -some- changes that add value. Higher-res graphics -dont- necessarily add value in my opinion, for example I think the Monkey Island remakes lack a lot of the atmosphere present in the originals. Zelda OoT: Master Quest is a positive example, nothing new in the gfx department but the higher difficulty made up for it.

What I'd really want is more developers that do what id does: Release the source code so enthusiasts can port the title to whereever they want, fix bugs, add improvements, etc. - but keep the actual game resources non-free so as to keep the rights to their IP and whatever (ianal). Unfortunately that list is still pretty short right now.

    Hello everyone,

I would like a new chrono trigger sequel to be releaesed. Or there was a company originally remaking chrono trigger for the gamecube but square enix told them to stop. I wish that game had been released or hopefully square enix will create a new chrono trigger sequel.

    Bye.
