It's all bollocks, Germany has some of the harshest anti-gaming laws (Mortal Kombat 2 is still banned there!) and yet look at this: Germany, November 1999: A 15-year-old student in Meissen, eastern Germany, stabbed his teacher to death after taking bets from classmates he would dare commit the crime. He was later jailed for seven years. Germany, March 2000: A 16-year-old pupil at a private boarding school in the Bavarian town of Branneburg, shot a 57-year-old teacher, who later died from injuries. The teenager - who also shot himself - was facing expulsion from school after failing a cannabis test. Germany, February 2002: A former pupil killed his headmaster and set off pipe bombs in the technical school he had recently been expelled from in Freising near Munich. The man also shot dead his boss and a foreman at the company he worked for before turning the gun on himself. Another teacher was shot in the face, but survived. Germany, April 2002: Seventeen people killed after a gunman - a former pupil - opens fire in a school in Erfurt, eastern Germany. He then turned the gun on himself. And thats only counting the ones up to 2002. I don't understand why they target games over any other factors, most of america have a dead man nailed to a chunk of a dead tree on their walls (crucifix). I'm pretty sure Jesus is more influential than EA.
hmmmm I enjoy dark, and quite violent comic books, and games but would I do anything of those things ? My answer is a simple one . No ! I would never do that, since I am not mentally stupid. And second of all, before it was violent computergames, then it was martial arts films. And then they said, that young, and old people thought, you would stand up, after you have been kicked, and punched to smitherins, but that is again a blatant lie. Since the mentality is why now adays people are getting killed by so many kicks to the head on the ground, and punches when they stand up. My father said, that when he was young, it was like "wam smash , do you want a beer ?". But then there came a certain group in, in the 70´s, and then the mentality changed dramatically, and well that is how it is nowadays, at least where I live in the world. So does people get violent over games ? No, only people who mentally aren´t intelligent in the first place.
Well, the martial arts thing *is* true. In the late 70's they had to ban nunchaku etc from films shown in the UK because people were smashing themselves up trying to practice with them and imitate Bruce Lee. True story.

An extra edit, I do agree that the violent game law, and very strict game law is really ridicoulous. But I am not going to offend any Germans, I just had strange humour thought. This is pretty retarded. All this shows is some kids have "emotional" responses. How does this prove this makes them violent or anything? And maybe it's just these kids. I mean really, when you lose in a game sometimes, you get pissed off. Other times you might not really care. Really, when will people learn that it's just a game. The reason people do these horrible things is not because of some game. Plus video games are not the only source of violence. You have movies, comics, books, and best of all, the news. Yup, we better ban the news. It's just too violent.
Sorry for explaining it to you, and every one else. But what I meant was, would I do anything in those two genres like do any of the actions, in the dark and quite violent computergames, or comics ? The simple answer is, no.
Sadly, only a small fraction of the population knows about people getting pissed off when they lose for some strange reason. Like when I own them in Kirby Air Ride.
You'd be surprised how frantic that game can get, I know I was. Plus I'm always attacking them, that helps too.
