How much would one cost on average (boxed)?

Are there any half decent games that i should pick up with one?

I know its a crap system, but it sounds pretty interesting, and i wanna play on one!

Buying one in the UK, expect to be taken to the cleaners. Get one imported cheap from the states as it will be a lot cheaper.

  3. Yeah, get a US VB, and make sure you get the full power adapter kit.

As for the games, Wario World, Vertical Force and Red Alarm.

I saw boxed systems in Japan for 7000 yen if that helps...

In the UK the US one goes for on average £75+...sometimes £100+ with a game or two.

The Japanese ones tend to go for more being slightly harder to obtain.

Try and get one with the AC adaptor and step down. What you spend on these as extras will far outweigh the cost of the batteries you will use.

I recently bought one on Ebay UK for £70 inc postage and a couple of games (including Red Storm, which is what I want it for really). It's a lot, and more than I intended to pay (ebay always does that) but there's not really much leverage unless you're prepared to travel or import. It's not about to go down in price here, not on Ebay at least.

Definityly get is on ebay.com from the states, here in europe they'll ask 3 times as much.
Adn when you get one be sure to get the adaptor pack and the stand for it to stand on becausy running that thing on the battery pack hanging from your head is a bitch or so i have been told.

it's seriously not worth getting. There is only one decent game and it is Warioland. The red and black stereovision will give you eye cancer. I got two off ebay :p. Unless you are a real collector get one that is loose. After playing for 3 minutes you'll be glad you didnt spend the extra $30 to get box + manual.

the strangest thing is that he don't whant to sell it because he have sealed VB games (as well as opened ones) , and if someone would buy one of these games , the guy in question could try it on is VB. ERrrr..... i think im the only one that visited is shop that is interested in VB (games or hardware). And if he would sell it to me , i would love to take alot of his games.... that's frustrating! :smt071

Is it just me or are the stories of the Virtual Boy giving people eyesight problems just a myth? I've been playing the VB for awhile now and it has never affected me. It seems as though everyone is over-exaggerating. :angry

I'm aware there were rumours and speculation in the Japanese press, although as far as I know they were never backed up. Besides Nintendo should know better than to damage the eyesite of their consumers, it's not terribly good business practice.

I love the VB too, but its so unconfortable to play I just have it sitting there. And the games that I'm most interested in playing are the most expensive/sought after - and its not like you can get a boot of a game worth in excess of 1000 dollars now can you?
I must have the strangest of aflictions though - n64 and some gamecube games (metroid, f-zero, other racing games), give me massive nauseating headaches/eye pain, but I can play the VB for ages without problems.

Anyway I want to hear more talk of the non-released proto games for the VB of which there where alot. The super mario game that was shown at a game show, of which there are pictures on the net, looked amazing. I imagine the f-zero type game would also have been amazing (wire-frames yes - but escape from targ did it incredibly well back in the day - ahh.. to be 10 again...)

You have motion sickness,a big problem for some people with newer 3D games.I used to get it when I was stoned or drunk so I can sympathise with you devilredeemed.I am sure there is tablets that you can get for it but I do not know what they are called.

If it is really bothering you and you desperately want to play the games it afflicts you with,I would go see your Doctor.

thanks man. you're right I have serious over sensitivity to motion - I used to throw up regularly in cars and what not.

I should definetly see a doc, but tablets are out of the question unfortunately as I have celiac desease (gluten intolerence), and most tablets contain gluten.
So I'll continue playing assorted 3d games (the fighting genre is by far my favourite), and 2d games.

I was thinking it could be down to something else though - I don't get this feeling like my head is going to explode when playing sega rally. oh well :smt022
