I was searching around some Japanese sites for games made on the Game Basic for Saturn software when I came across this Mario remake  Looks pretty cool for a home brew effort. Found loads of other games too so I hope to check them out when I get a fair few minutes.

    Sweet!

It looks like how I imagined Mario in 3D as a little kid :).

Based on what was written hell no. Just wanted to be the first to press with something, if there was a problem they can just edit the post and act like someone is trying to make them look bad.

Now this is something even I would enjoy playing.
2D gaming brought to 3D without the usual crap enhancements.

This is a demo made with Game Basic by Yukun software:
    http://shinjuku.cool.ne.jp/yukunss/

    Really well done.

Some other sites already talked about it and the name given to this demo is not "Virtual Mario" but "Virtua Mario" or just "Super Mario" (according to the link above).;-)

    Edit: added a smiley

Agreed, never been a fan of these big "linkblogs" where they just post the story and content and then link to the article... Sure it gets some traffic to the original owner but never a significant amount :/

It's a shame Game Basic didn't had either a PAL or USA release, certainly would've helped spreading the creations by the community.

The only way to get the skinny on games is from a small site. Even Kotaku have proved they are clueless.

I'm afraid you need the Game Basic disc + cable for this, and, of course, the source code to the game...

Yep, that's the one. I'm going to give it a whiz over the weekend. Got a fair few other interesting titles for Game basic as well. Can't remember where they came from now :( so what I'll do is if anyone is after them I'll just rare them all up and send them via Email.
