Uh, yes and hell yes! Virtual On on Saturn and Dreamcast are probably my favorite games today and the only games I would ever try to claim are actually perfect. I just picked up my second set of Saturn Twin Sticks back in October so I can play multiplayer when the opportunity arises. I generally believe that both games can be played almost fully with the stock gamepads, but I can't resist having the capability of playing them with the original Arcade sticks at home.

Yeh I've got 3 sticks, 2 of which are in their box still. Feels much better using a stick than the pad though. Been going a few rounds with Temjin, still gotta get used to it.

I wrote a guide or playing Oratario Tangram with the Dreamcast controller back when all of the reviewers trashed it upon release. The moves that aren't easily executed with the gamepad are also moves I can barely pull off or remember with the Twin Sticks. Once I teach somebody how to in fight and jump/cancel properly they're usually playing very competently and making very interesting matches. My obsession with Viper/Cypher helps though, his lack of armor makes it easy for a casual player to be competitive as long as I don't play too aggressively.

Actually, I convinced my college roommate to pick up VOOT on XBLA. I told him the "proper" controls were to use the dual analog like Twin Sticks but he settled on the gamepad settings that are identical to the default Dreamcast controls instead.

I played the hell out of the Saturn and DC games and now play the Xbox 360 Virtua On 4 and remake of the 2nd game.

I'm planning on getting the Saturn game again. I had the netlink edition briefly but I sold it. Made a decent profit, though :)

The Dreamcast and Saturn sticks look the best way to play, but getting one is a bit pricey. There is a workaround if one has a two player arcade stick. I Modded my Blaze Twinshock to work with the PS2 Sega Ages and Marz versions.

I got the VOOT 360 XBLA release and also got the Virtual On Force/4 collector's edition for 360 both great games. Still need to get the online achievements for the latter as I could not find enough opponents online (you needed 2 teams of 2)! That said, I don't even have gold membership right now.

I was a big fan of the Saturn version but Tangram and the rest of the sequels pretty much ruined the franchise for me.

TBH I feel the game got too japanese for its own good, the designs went from awesome to kind of ridiculous and if it werent for that I bet it could actually be popular this side of the world

That and restoring the Saturn's control scheme, its like Vanquish without the crappy aiming

I love a bit of Virtual On. I have fond memories of waiting outside an arcade as a kid for an hour so I could be the first person in to play it. I also remeber waring out a Saturn laser from playing it to much at home.

Great game. If only Sega would bring The model 2 collection to the US PSN/XBL.
