At first, I want to apologize for the stupid title :banghead: I searched for the adresses of CAVE, Treasure and G.REV and found them as well. Is there any chance of getting an autograph on my games by, lets say Hiroshi Iuchi? I believe not but a question can't hurt. I saw the office of G.REV on that shmup documentary on GameONE and its located in an appartment just like an ordinary flat. I really wonder if I should just grab some of my shooters and talk to them in fractured japanese untill they sign it to get rid of me XD
You could hang around outside the gates and hope one of the people you want a signature from walked past, but I very much doubt any company anywhere would openly let people anywhere near their offices, let alone disturb a member of staff to give an autograph.
Dammit Well I thought so already regarding the masses of shooting otakus in Japan who might want an autograph, too. Has anybody been there already, in front of one of the company's gates? Its not like I want to intrude, making photos of pigs or bullet-absorbing devices and hand them to another company... but japanese hospitality against gaijins won't go so far, will it?
You could always make up a cover story and do a mock interview for a magazine/website that doesn't exist?
Well in fact, If I did an interview I would post it on my site which exists. But its very hard to get in contact with those people, I already sent an email to CAVE and they didn't respond although I wrote it in English AND Japanese. Arrogance or fear of the unknown (=gaijins)?^^
Ikeda, the guy anyone would want to intervie at Cave, seems somewhat reclusive. Even at the Cave Festival, he was there for mere minutes, and then vanished.
Getting to the offices of game companies isn't had but actually getting a chance to speak to anyone maybe. You can even walk through the front doors at Sega if you want but I doubt you'll get past reception. Yakumo
A friend of mine has been at Nintendo in Kyoto last summer. He and his friends talked to the guard untill he brought some Nintendo Merch (stickers and advert) as well as - yes - statistics of their 2005 hardware sales. I couldn't believe they'd hand fans something senseless like statistics untill he showed it to me. Well even if there's nobody to grab for an autograph, I'll have my pleasure with seeing those company's buildings... Just a question besides, are those Taito astrays for sale in shops at times? I'd really LIKE to get one of those, but stealing...
They sell lots of Sega/Taito/Etc ashtrays on eBay, obviously stolen from the arcades, but you can pretend you don't know they are stolen.
