I read about this, just weird. Who knows though, it's a stupid move if it's as it seems.

 

Confusing wording, but I think they mean that all games will support remote play, not that it's mandatory. If it was, the DualShock 4 controller would be moot point.

 

What Sony is saying is that it is mandatory for game devs to put in remote play support.

 

It doesn't say it's required for consumers, it's just an option. Nice feature, just too bad nobody owns a Vita.

Also it's the other way around: PS4 games are required to play on Vita.

Sony basically just mandated for all devs to make all of their games remote play compatible for PS4-vita (only few game devs are using this function to stream ps3 games to the vita and it only works with a handful of games).

Playing Watch dogs away from home on a portable must feel pretty swag though XD

 

In a way its a smart move to increase the lackluster sales on the Vita by having ps4 style games on the Handheld.

 

I wonder if the Vita will even be on the market anymore when the PS4 comes out?

You only require a Vita to play PS3/PS4 in remote play mode, it's not mandatory to have a Vita to own a PS4.

I think the fact that Sony requires all games to implement remote play is maybe a non-starter for some developer.

Other than that I don't see why people are getting angry with Sony on this one, unless people were hoping to be able to use remote play feature on non-playstation devices?

Hard not to be with all of the nonsense going on. Should I be happy about the Kinect being required? Should I be overjoyed that game rentals are being killed off systematically?
