software shelves Update: here's my modest software collection: SMS is my favorite console. My goal is the USA fullset, some Canadian oddities, and some random games from other territories. SMS games are quite easy to obtain these days; the fanbase is small. Also: MD & a lone Famicom AKIRA cart. Genesis & GBA. The Shadow Dancer box is something I created in my childhood since the original USA box art might be the worst ever. It's so bad that it has a strange effect: when looking at it, you almost can't see it. Your eyes can't focus. You have no idea what you're looking at. I think that's Shinobi, swinging a sword... at people? I don't know, I can't really SEE it even though I'm staring right at it. Must be seen to be believed. The plastic bin is filled with Atari 2600 carts. SS & DC. The English on the opposite spine was always a nice feature  TechnoSoft soundtracks. XBOX, GC, PS2, PCE, etc. I'm proud of my Saturn USA collection: The missing Panzer Dragoon Saga is the work of a thief. I never knew who; friend of a friend, maybe? A few years after moving twice, I unpacked these games and it was missing. I recently sold a sealed copy. Toys R Us had them for $20 brand new for months after it released. Why oh why didn't I buy them all? SS & PS1. The end. I'll update again when my collection is significantly larger!
US Saturn games look so good on a shelf - spine view. Cover art is pants but the case is by far the best (PAL= shitty cardboard box that gets riped and fecked, JAP= crappy cd case). You have a nice collection of them man, your right to be proud.
Very nice! Once I'm satisfied with all the consoles I've bought I'd like to start collecting/display in a similar fashion to this.
You have some really sweet stuff, thanks for sharing. BTW in the hardware section what's in the silver DC box? I don't think I remember seeing one before...
That's a strange USA item. I think it was given away by the retailer "GameStop" around the DC launch. It's just a game holder box with a velcro lid, that holds jewel cases or similar items; a friend gave it to me. I hate GameStop and never shop there. Don't get me wrong - although my collection makes me look like the SEGA freak that I am, I am also a Nintendo fan and love all other consoles. My collection was larger in my youth. I'm in the process of re-building my NES, SNES & N64 collection that I used to have, along with PCE pray and other consoles that I enjoy.
Thanks for enlightening me! Normally I prefer PAL cases, probably from nostalgia mostly, but those US saturn cases look really sweet on a shelf. I think I'd have to slide them along and close the PDS hole though because, given the story, I'd get depressed and angry every time I saw the hole.
