Midway wanted to do MK Vs Street fighter and that's where their Ken clone characters Cobra (Kobra?) comes from. Capcom said "LAWL FUCK YOU" It'd be great for Capcom to buy it make Capcom Vs Midway or Mortal Kombat vs Street Fighter. And then we can finally play a Mortal Kombat that isn't broken and full of bullshit "free hits" and static technique.
DECEPTION was actually a decent 3D fighter. MK DA was okay except the stabbing = bleeding out deception added a parry system, and a few others. It almost hit it. almost.
Yeah, that's right, the stabbing could get cheap. The thing about Deception was that I had a lot of trouble pulling off the fatalities, you had to switch to the style or whatever? For some reason I sucked at it. The fatalities were always fun to watch and hari kiris were funny. I just didn't play it as much as DA, but both were pretty fun I thought. Oh yeah, Shaolin monks I think it was? The demo was a pretty fun 2D brawler, like Sega Genesis days style beat em up sort of. I was going to buy it because it seemed like a great 2 player game but never did, it seemed pretty awesome.
I see Mortal Kombat sports games. Mortal Kombat Extreme Volleyball, Soccer, you get the picture.
Wold be nice to see an RPG made from the i.p, it's never been among the top class of fighters but the back story could make a great RPG if you started at the first MK and worked your way through (Missing out superman and all the silly shit).
you didn't have to switch. the fatality stance was there to help you. you could just go to sweep distance and hit back left back left punch for example. but if you were just barely in sweep distance than you'd get out of the distance and fatality wouldn't work. so the fatlity stance was there to lock you in place. I thought it was a great idea that worked well.
Really? I was confused at that, I couldn't pull them off because I thought you had to do something wierd. I'll have to go back and fuck with it, I didn't get to play it too much.
