You know the thing where people put their name in a hat and the person you pick, you have to buy a gift x dollars or less. That way everyone gets a present and gives a present. I am very bad at explaining this.
Its called Secret SANTA!!!! But you got the right idea.... Now what we have to do is see whos in and set the rules for what kind of gift! e.g. buying game gifts would be cool but then everyone has to list what they have/can play so on and so. So non gaming gifts or only merchandise and so on.....
I actually was gonna name it secret santa but I didnt want to offend any "non santa believers". :smt033
Well it's a good enough idea, but $x* or less is not so good, $x* or up is :smt023 With the down plan, nothing would stop anyone being a tightass sending a penny chew, but with the up plan, atleast it will be something not so tightass. It probably would be best for each person's santa to be in a similar region to cut down on postage costs and it would take a LOT of organisation from multiple people to pull off, but it could easily be organised within 6 weeks by a good leader in time to get everything sorted and mailed before the post goes to shit. Receipts could be scanned / photographed / snailmailed to 'regional' organisers to prove the minimal amount had been hit so noone was cheapskating :smt083 Participation should be optional, not compulsory - with final submissions for participants taken probably around the tail end of november to allow all the 'paperwork' to be done in time/properly. * = or regional currency equivalent :douga :boobies2 :douga
without a top limit ? that's a bad idea. you know , there's certain person that can't afford high present due to financial troubles ,... some would send presents with great values, while others that couldn't afford valuable things would be shy to just send their little present. (don't know if i explained it well..) so a top is inevitable .... but we could do at top and a floor. don't you think?
It's not so bad as the minimal amount would set the standard for how much someone was prepared to pay expecting to recieve something hovering around the minimum mark. if someone was expecting to receive something of the minimal amount, but if they felt generous bceause they are rich they could spend as much as they like hehe
I'd definatley take part I mean, I am a student and lack fundage of any sort, lol, but It would be in the christmas spirit and all ^_^ Plus, you guys are my friends :smt023
Count me in. I'm poor, so don't expect anything over $50 from me. I would like any game for GC or GBA as my gift. Don't care what the game is. It can be used, wihtout the box, whatever. I'm not picky.
OK everybody who wants to participate post here as I am starting to put toghtether the names and draw them out of a hat. You will receive your snowflake by PM. Fine. How about people talk to their regional leader before they send the present. That way no one is sending Radiant Silvergun and receiving SMB/Duck Hunt.
You need to organise who will be the organiser for what region. I'm possibly in, but need to see how this house purchase and moving goes first... :angry
I'd be in if you got some great organisation on the go - I'd personally nominate Yakumo to be the ring leader hehe.
Dont agree with a min spend unless its very low and also i dont think we should be sending things out that are expensive or that great. Mostly gaming treats like key rings, posters, other things like that.
