I was robbed at gunpoint and hit in the head with a hammer 2 years ago at my second location in a nearby city. I later sold that store but ever since I just have had no desire to deal with the day to day functions. After being in this business for 8 years I'm ready for a new life. What should I do? Throw the thing up on ebay? Anyone in the Cleveland area want to sell videogames for a living?
It would be rather easy to find and affordable to have some 16/17 year old students sell it for you.. but on the other hand they are not the best workers around ;-) Sad to hear what happened though...
Such a shame.. if it was over in he UK, i might be interested... but i cant see my wife wanting to up sticks to th e USA..
I am sad to hear what happened... I was wondering maybe you could set up an online video game shop and I think the day to day functions could be quite different?
Thats a really good idea.. if your not fed up with the VG industry, then move into the E-sales market.. can also allow more freedom with your time perhaps too?
Hey man I live in Central Ohio just south of Columbus, if you want to come closer to me I will work for you and I have a buddy you would do it to. The small town I live in has basically no crime and we dont have a single game store, despite the fact that we have the 3rd biggest super walmart in the whole country
Nice as that might seem, how would a small Independant games shop compare against such a large Walmart in a relatively small town? Not doubtng you mate, dont get me wrong.
Sell everything, buy a small villa in the South of France and start a donkey sanctuary. Live off the fat of the land and never switch another electrical appliance on as long as you live. Oh, hang on that was Bridget Bardot...
We have a local blockbuster that sells used games and they sell the most used games out of any blockbuster in central ohio. Our town isnt super small seeing as we have such a large walmart but demand is here for used games. Most people dont even buy games at walmart. Our nearest game shops are 25+ miles away, I think a game store around here would clean up lol.
Cleveland you say? *curls moustache* Is this a franchise store or something more along the lines of a mom and pop home owned affair? I doubt I'm in any position to actually buy a game shop, but I'm curious just the same. *sets moustache on desk*
Switch to collectible card games. Host weekly tournaments and make sure to carry a wide selection of drinks and snacks (at inflated prices). Similar gamer crowd, but considerably less thugs will even blink at a card shop. Of course, I'll agree with ASSEMbler's first statement too.
