This shop is selling the Singer IZEK sewing machines. They come with a special Game Boy Cartridge that contains sewing patterns and can also control the machine. Just found out about the shop via Retrothing and I remember reading an article on it a few years ago in a game mag. From what I remember the stored patterns include Nintendo characters like Yoshi and Mario. The machine is bit pricey at $399 but being able to make some Yoshi socks? Priceless.
Just had a look at this link. Assembler, of course. So, do you still have it? And did you make anything with it? Edit: "I'd love to do an indepth review if I can get one.." Argh, I really should read articles more carefully before posting. Too bad.
Theres a japanese version of that sewing machine called Nuotto made by the Jaguar company. It differs quite a lot as the gbc sits inside the machine & theres several gbc carts released for it with different characters, the results it creates are very impressive. I have a picture of it in my spaceworld brochure, ill take a pic maybe if anyones interested.
Interesting, I've seen that thing in person a while ago. It was horrendously overpriced but way cool.
