Wanted: Black bottom for Dreamcast

Just recently purchased an official Sega top for my DC, was wondering if were at all possible to get the bottom half. Ideally I would like it in black to match the top but then another colour could look cool too.

If anyone knows where I can grab one of these that would be fantastic.

You might want to look for a Regulation 7 Dreamcast. They are rebranded consoles that were used in Pachinko machines, as I remember. Lovely looking units. Should be reasonably cheap now too, they were selling them off for next to nothing on Sega Direct in Japan way back in 2001/2002.

Can't help on the bottom cover, though. Sorry.

 

While the R7 units look the buisness they are not that cheap to get hold of! Well they are relatively cheap imho. However for the wonderful black shell they are very much worth it. I know if mine broke I would put the innards of a new DC inside the R7 shell.

 

How much do they run these days? Seems like I can get one shipped from Japan for $200 on ebay. No bidders though. That seems like a reasonably fair price considering it's shipped, although I wouldn't want to spend that much, they can't be particularly rare.

 

Alternatively, you could just buy a cheap US Sega Sports console for less than an R7

 

You could spray paint the bottom black with Krylon Fusion......

 

This is probably what I'm going to do, once I get a taste for DC collecting again (and more importantly some money) I'm going to start picking up some of the LE DC's they aren't that hard to find.
