Does condition matter? Can you replace a drive belt? What games would you like included? Cart games or disk games? How much would you spend? All necessary information.

I have a boxed/manualed FDS I could let go in very good condition, nearly new (second model, manufactured sometime after 1988 for sure) but it has a broken drive belt and I ran out of new ones. If I managed to get some I could finely tune the drive with diagnostic software and realign/clean the drive head if that would be worth paying for to you. I also have a whole crapload of Famicom consoles, however many appear to be broken, mostly with damaged CPUs. I may have one or two working consoles I could live without that I could frankenstein into a pretty good condition console. Do you know if you can view Famicom RF? I could mod the system for composite if required.

Wow, now I'm interested. Kyuusaku, you mentioned something about a second model manufactured after 1988. Were there more than one models of the FDS?

There are around 10 absolute revisions but all that matters is the controller IC. The old IC allows for writing to anywhere on the disk with some minor PCB modifications, the new one doesn't. To do anything fun with a FDS, you need a modified old model or you need to reconstruct the missing logic with additional components which is far more difficult. If your FDS is from Japan, there is a pretty good method of determining which model you have without locating the IC, I think many people can tell you this method, if however yours has passed through Hong Kong (most sold online have!) most shops altered the thing that gave away the model in order to keep the more desireable ones.

That's a silly mission, without the modification (and software to take advantage of this exploit) the old models are of no more use than any old FDS. By 12 revisions, I mean there are 12 FDS out there down to every last component, this includes different drive motors etc.

When you said around 10 revisions, did you mean 12 revisions for the Japanese model, or 12 for all released in Asia alone?

How many revisions were there for the Japanese releases?

There are only FDS released in Asia, specifically in Japan and Hong Kong. The only difference between JP and HK FDS is the box and power supply, so I mean there are around 10 absolute revisions period. All that matters is that you get a working drive with the original IC and modify the board, mission complete... Do you collect every PS2 revision too? o_0

Thank you Kyuusaku for the very helpful info :).

You know what, I've made a list of every video game collection each in NTSC-J/NTSC-U/PAL (UK).

When I got to Saturns, Dreamcasts, PS2s. I got stuck.
I saw there were like over 50 revisions for the PS2 0_o.
So, I'm just going for consoles that weren't made in bulk models, just looking for the region.

My collection isn't really big at all, I just have an original GB, a NES, a PAL SNES, an NTSC-U SNES, an N64, a Dreamcast, a PS2, a PSP, and a GameGear & old model Sega Genesis coming in from eBay. I also have a GD-burner, but I'm not adding Dev kits to the list, as you can figure why :D.

I have everything on the list from NTSC-J/NTSC-U/PAL Magnavox Odysseys, to everything N64. Also looking for anything cheap!
