I'm looking to acquire some N64 backup hardware, namely:

    - Bung V64JR
    - Mr Backup Z64
    - CD64
    - Read/write cartridge
    - Other related items

I'm only interested in tested, working items. Ideally with everything needed to use them, but it's not required.

Please email me or PM me through my profile (link) with a description of the item, a few pictures of the items with a card or paper with both of our assembler screen names written on it, and your asking price.

I'm looking to make the deals as quickly as possible.
My email is twelvetales64*at*gmail*dot*com and method of payment is PayPal.

    Just a pointer....

If you want to buy something, as you are a new member, you may want to post references - e.g. your eBay ID or an ID on another forum where you have done trades. This may reassure members... although of course, there is less risk involved in selling.

You may also want to update your profile to include your location - many people don't like shipping items overseas.

Are you actually intrested in those items specifically, or do you just want something to dump an N64 cart? If that's the case here's a guide written by forum member TS_Death_Angel:

Tracking down a gameshark would be much easier than tracking down those items (and probably cost a lot less).

    Good luck.

Thanks for the link to that guide, I have yet to see it.

But no, my quest is not for ROMs or things I can already get, but for the hardware that lets me do awesome things with my actual N64 console.

I've heard about the devices over the years and have looked around from time to time on where to discuss and get them. ASSEMblergames is the place it seems.

What "awesome things" do you want to do with your N64 console? If you're interested in honest homebrew, a Gameshark + parallel port is all you need to get started.

Also Assembler isn't the place for development or backup devices really, it's more for licensed development hardware collecting and developing serial number lists, software installation guides ;)

For demo source look to Dextrose.

As for commercial source... don't talk about it because no N64 games have been made public domain by their authors. There has been talk around here about commercial source before but honestly it's pretty disrespectful.

As for the backup units, are you trying to collect all of them or do you just want any one to playback games?

What do you mean by a read/write cartridge? There have never been any unofficial flash cartridges for sale, so you'd have to look for various Intelligent Systems or SN Systems gear. There is however a thread about a N64 cartridge interface if you're tech savvy: http://assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16175

My search for backup hardware is based on wanting the hardware for collecting purposes and to run modified dumps of my own cartridges. I do already have a Gameshark that is capable of dumping but having actual backup hardware would make playing a number of modified games much easier on the N64 hardware.

Since people around here are very into rare hardware, It seems that the hardware I'm looking for qualifies. Can't get much more wanted ad rare than a 64DD or devkits.

I haven't searched over Dextrose that thoroughly yet, but it does come up a lot in my search results. Good idea.

If talking about commercial source code is against the rules then I certainly will avoid doing so. If it's not then I don't see any reason not to.

    Collecting them all, definitely.

Thanks for the link! That looks like a ton of fun.

Also, thanks for the post. :)

That's what you think now, stick around for a while ;)

It's not against the rules but depending on how the conversation goes you may be shitlisted by some pretty cool people that take offense.

Look to the Tototek/Dextrose forums for N64 units. I would love to sell another Bay Arean some copiers but unless you want a broken V64 Jr 256M, I don't have any more extras to offer. I've spent a lot of time studying almost every copier for every system though so any technical questions about them are welcome here or on Tototek.

Thanks for the advice Calpis. I'm still hoping there are people out there with backup units or development boards or know people who do.

So far I haven't had any discussions that went badly from what I could tell with people here over source code, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'm pretty versed in project licensing so I know from direct experience how passionate people are about that kind of stuff.

I'll definitely search around in the places you mentioned.
